WESTERVILLE, Ohio – On Tuesday afternoon, Capital University junior goalkeeper Noah Thomas was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for men's soccer after helping the Comets post a 2-1-0 record during the week.

The honor marks the second OAC Defensive Player of the Week award of Thomas' career and the first weekly conference honor for a Capital men's soccer player this season.

Thomas opened the week Sept. 1 against No. 21 Denison University, recording seven saves while allowing just one goal in the 78th minute.

On Saturday, Thomas anchored Capital's 2-1 victory with 10 saves over 90 minutes. He followed that performance Sunday against Bluffton University, recording three saves in the first half of the Comets' 3-0 win.

Thomas enters the week with a 2-1 record in goal. The Comets will return to action Wednesday, Sept. 9, against Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
