SUNBURY, Ohio - Both the women's and the men's Capital University golf teams were in action on Monday, Apr. 6, competing in the Easter Leftovers Invitational at NorthStar Golf Club. In the 18-hole event, the women would finish sixth in the field of six, while the men would finish fifth out of the eight teams competing. The women ended the day with a score of 385 (+97), while the men carded a 324 (+36).
MEN
Leading the Comets on the men's side would be
Nolan Frey, who finished his day with a two-over 74. The junior finished just one shot back of the leader, earning a tie for second place.
The next two lowest scorers for Capital was
Brian Luft and
Andreas Reider, each coming in with a nine over 81. The duo would finish in a tie for 20th.
WOMEN
Emma Konopa led the way on the women's side, earning a tie for 13th place after firing an 88 (+16)
Following Konopa was
Paige Leyda, who recorded one birdie on her way to finishing at 21-over.
UP NEXT
The women's team will be back in action on Monday, Apr. 13 for the OAC Spring Preview in West Lafayette. Meanwhile, the men will be traveling to North Carolina for the 52nd Camp Lejune Intercollegiate. The event will take place from Apr. 9-12.
