WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Capital University men's golfer
Keegan Billingham has been named Honorable Mention All-OAC, with the conference's release of postseason awards Thursday morning. This is the junior's first time receiving All-OAC honors.
In the nine events he participated in this season, he finished in the top-ten five five times. Of those five top-ten finishes, three would be of the top-five variety. In 16 total rounds on the year, Billingham finished with a scoring average of 75.7
The highlight of his strong season would come at the Thaw Out Invite, which took place from Mar. 21-22 at the Bright Leaf Golf Course and Resort. Billingham led Capital to a second place team finish, along with finding himself in a tie for first place after 36 holes of play. The junior would ultimately fall just short in a three-man playoff. He would record rounds of 70 and 69 to finish with a five-under 139. This 36-hole score was good enough for a new personal best, along with second in program history, trailing Shane Murphy's record of 138 in 2021 by just one stroke.
After missing a couple weeks due to injury, Billingham would end the year off strong, finishing in a tie for ninth place at the OAC Championship at the River Greens Golf Club. He would fire off rounds of 74, 74, 73 to finish at five over and yet another top-ten finish.
