ORLANDO, Fla. - The Capital University women's tennis team was back in action on Thursday, Mar. 5 for their final match of their spring trip to Orlando. Facing off against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the Comets would fall by a score of 1-6. With the loss, Capital now stands at 5-8 on the season. Meanwhile, RPI rises to 3-4.
DOUBLES
The duo of
Stephanie Makris and
Scarlett Stephens fell in the one spot by a score of 6-2.
In the no. 2 doubles spot,
Annika Hansen and
Jenny Rollins were defeated 6-3.
Rounding out doubles,
Addison Kokensparger and
Ella McGlynn took a 6-0 loss.
SINGLES
In the no. 1 singles spot, Capital's Hansen was defeated by Gauri Muliyil 6-3, 6-1.
Earning the lone win for the Comets,
Scarlett Stephens took down Kayla Wheeler with scores of 6-4, 2-6, and 1-0 in the second spot.
Playing in the no. 3 spot, Makris fell to Victoria Sarabosing 6-0, 6-1.
Jenny Rollins played in the fourth spot, taking a 6-1, 6-0 loss to Juliette Ceas.
Rounding out the fifth and sixth spots were
Ella McGlynn and
Addison Kokensparger, who both dropped their matches 6-0, 6-0.
