GREENWOOD, Ind. – On Tuesday afternoon, eight Capital University football players were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District teams for their combined work in the classroom and on the field this past season.
Representing the program are seniors
Cyrus Burden,
Jayden Carter and
Nate Younker and juniors
Jake Fitzpatrick,
Finn Devine,
Trent Renz, and
Bryson Roberts and sophomore
Wesley Armstead. Burden, Younker, Fitzpatrick, Devine, Renz and Roberts are all second-time recipients of the award while Carter and Armstead are first-time winners.
To be eligible for this award, student-athletes must be at least of sophomore academic and athletic standing, must have at least a 3.50 GPA cumulative GPA (not-rounded), and meet other high athletic standards.
Of those featured on this list,
Cyrus Burden has been advanced to the national ballot within his respective position group to be voted on for Academic All-America honors. A first, second and third team Academic All-America will be released on January 27th once national voting has been compiled.
