Diamonte Salley Selected to D3football.com All-Region Second Team

COLUMBUS, Ohio – As announced on Wednesday afternoon, Capital University football's Diamonte Salley was selected to the D3football.com All-Region Second Team as a defensive back.

Salley is the first D3football.com All-Region selection for Capital football since the 2018 season when Dar Stanford also earned second team honors. Salley is just the 21st All-Region selection in program history since the award was created by D3football.com in 2005.

In 2025, Salley helped guide the Comets football to their best record since 2018. As a leading member of the defense, Salley also helped the Comets improve drastically in several categories including fewer points against, less opponent total offense, less opponent rushing yards and less opponent passing yards among others. For his efforts helping to lead these efforts, Salley adds his All-Region honor to his First Team All-OAC accolade already received.

This season, Salley started all 10 games as a defensive back and finished second on the team in total tackles with 62, while leading the team far and away in solo tackles with 42. He also contributed one tackle for a loss, five pass breakups, one interception and one QB hurry.
