Golf Rounds Up Play at Midwest Regional Fall Classic

KANSASVILLE, Wis. – Both Capital University men's and women's golf teams ventured to Kansasville, Wisconsin this weekend for the Midwest Region Classic hosted by Benedictine On Friday and Saturday. 

Across the two-day event, which featured dozens of teams on both the men's and women's sides, the Comets performed well. The Comet men finished in a tie for 21st overall out of 45 teams. The Capital women placed in a tie for 26th out of 39 teams. 

WOMEN
As a team, Capital shot rounds of 343 and 355 to combine for 698 over 36 holes. 

Emma Konopa led the way for Capital after shooting a combined 167 over the two days. She opened with a round of 77 before finishing with a second day 90. 

Paige Leyda was next for the Comets with a score of 173 after shooting 85 and 88 over the two days. 

Michaela Skarkova was the next Capital golfer to place with a 36-hole score of 177. She carded a 90 and a second day 87 to compose her score. 

Camryn Mauter was next for the team score after scoring rounds of 91 and 90 to combine for 181. 

Francesca Hatheway was the final Comet to finish with a score of 191 after rounds of 97 and 94. 

MEN
As a team, Capital shot a rather consistent weekend of golf, scoring 307 on day one before dropping a stroke for a 306 on day two. 

Brian Luft was the top Comet golfer placing 62nd overall with a two-round score of 151 after rounds of 73 and 78. 

Keegan Billingham was the next Cap golfer to place, scoring 152 for the two days. He carded 18-hole scores of 78 and 74. 

Logan Wycoff was the next to place for Capital with a two-day score of 153. His score combined a 76 with a 77 over the 36 holes. 

Tyler Caleodis was next, scoring a 157 after rounds of 80 and 77. 

Rounding out the team performance was Andreas Reider who scored an 88 in round one and 79 in round two for a combined score of 167. 

UP NEXT
The Capital men will be back in action for the OAC Fall Preview on October 11th and 12th. The Comet women's next competition will be on October 4th and 5th for their own OAC Fall Preview.
