MAYFIELD, Ohio – The Capital University men's and women's golf teams hit the course once again on Sunday and Monday, competing in the Jimmy Hanlin Classic hosted by Ohio Northern. Both teams would finish second in their respective fields with Keegan Billigham taking medalist honors on the men's side after a three-hole playoff.

The Comet men would finish just eight strokes out of first place in their nine-team field after putting up a 298 in round one followed by a 306 in round two with all counted rounds being in the 70s.
Keegan Billingham led the way with a one-under-par round one of 71 with a 76 in round two to finish T-1st overall at 147. He would go on to win medalist honors after a three-hole playoff.
Cam Donahue came next, shooting an even-par 72 and a 76 to finish T-4th at 148.
Ricky Walsh was next at T-20th after rounds of 81 and 75 to total 156. Both
Nolan Frey and
Adam Murphy would finish T-25th at 158. Frey shot 79-79 while Murphy went 76-82.

The Purple and White women would finish second in their nine-team field behind host Ohio Northern.
Emma Konopa put up the lowest scores for the team, shooting rounds of 89 and 85 to finish 7th overall at 174.
Reese King and
Camryn Mauter both ended up at T-12th with totals of 204. King scored a 103 and a 101 while Mauter made 102 in both rounds.
Hannah Combs came in at 14th with a 209 after rounds of 100 and 109.
UP NEXT
The next tournament for both squads will be the OAC Spring Preview at the River Greens Golf Club in West Lafayette. The men will compete on Thursday, April 10th, followed by the women on Monday, April 14th.
