COLUMBUS, Ohio - D3hoops.com released the first set of team of the week honors for the 2025-26 season on Tuesday, Nov. 18.  Taking home the award for the fourth time in her career was Capital's Samaree Perkins.  The senior is now tied with Kendra Meyer, who earned the award four times for Capital from 1999-2001.  Perkins' strong play has led to the Comets beginning their season with a 2-0 start.
 
In the two games thus far, Perkins is averaging 24.5 points per game.  She finished with 30 points in the match-up with Franklin College on Nov. 11, where she also broke the single game program record for free throws made with 16.  She also tied the program record for free throws attempted in a game with 18.
 
The Pittsburgh native has been dominant on the glass, recording 33 rebounds in the two games played to begin the year.  Her 19 boards in the season opener would be a new career high, with nine of them coming on the offensive end.
 
Samaree has also made her presence felt on the defensive end, as she finished the week with two blocks and two steals.
 
Perkins and the Capital women's basketball team will be back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 18 when they are back at home to take on Case Western Reserve University.  The game will tip off at 5 PM.
