OTTAWA, Ohio – The Capital University women's golf team hit the course at the Moose Landing Country Club over the weekend, playing in the two-day Yellow Jacket Spring Invitational on Friday and Saturday hosted by Defiance College. The Comets would score 383 on day one, following that with a 380 on day two to secure second place in the five team field at a total of 763.
It was also senior weekend for CU as it marked the last regular season tournament in the careers of
Mariah Cotsamire and
Hannah Frey.
DAY ONE (383)
The Purple and White would struggle a bit on Friday, with three players finishing over 100 on the day.
Hannah Frey had the best score for CU, shooting 87 in her first round.
Emma Konopa followed seven strokes behind at 94. Both
Mariah Cotsamire and
Avery Fish would score 101s to finish off the card at 383 and leave the Cap in third place heading into Saturday.
Abby Crisler scored 107 for her first round.
DAY TWO (380)
Capital turned it on with an improved second round on Saturday, dropping three strokes and jumping up into a second-place finish at a total of 763.
Mariah Cotsamire turned in the team's lowest score with an 83 on day two to place eighth overall with 184. Right behind her was
Hannah Frey finishing ninth overall with a 185 after putting up a second round score of 98.
Emma Konopa came in next at 10th overall, shooting 92 on the second day to total 186.
Avery Fish finished 17th overall with a 208 after a second round 107.
Abby Crisler came in at 20th overall, totaling 219 with a 112 on day two.
UP NEXT
The Comets will wrap up the season at the OAC Championships running from May 3rd to May 5th at the River Greens Golf Club in West Lafayette, where they finished third in the OAC Spring Preview earlier this season.
