SPARKS, Md. – As announced on Wednesday morning, Capital University women's lacrosse midfielder
Grace Osborn was selected as a preseason Second Team All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine.
Osborn, who is entering her junior season at Capital, has now been recognized by USA Lacrosse Magazine with a preseason All-America award in two consecutive seasons as she was a preseason Honorable Mention All-American in 2023. At the end of the 2023 season the IWLCA announced Osborn as a Second Team All-American.
In both of her first two seasons with the Comets, Osborn has led all of the NCAA in goals scored, scoring 126 in 2022 and 111 in 2023 to total 237 goals. She currently has the second most career goals in Capital history, behind former teammate Luci Kanowski who tallied 254. Adding her 58 career assists, Osborn has 295 career points, putting her at the fourth most in program history. In addition to her scoring prowess, Osborn adds to the game in other areas as well as she has accrued 105 ground balls, 69 caused turnovers, and 251 draw controls in her career so far.
Osborn's efforts have helped Capital women's lacrosse claim the OAC Championship and a berth into the NCAA Tournament each of the past two seasons. Both of those seasons, Osborn and the Comets bowed out of the NCAA Tournament in the second round to nationally ranked opposition.
This season, Osborn and the preseason nationally ranked Capital women's lacrosse team (RV per USA Lacrosse Magazine) will kick start their season on Saturday, February 17th as they host Oberlin for a 12 p.m. start at Bernlohr Stadium.
