KANSAS CITY, Mo. – As of Tuesday afternoon, United Soccer Coaches (USC) has announced their All-Region picks for the 2024 season. Among those named Second Team All-Region VII was Capital University midfielder
Jacob Deever. Deever's is the 21st all-region selection in program history and the eighth to the second team.
Deever – who was just named First Team All-OAC – led the Comets in scoring this season, finishing with eight goals and three assists for 19 points. All eight of his goals came against OAC competition this year, including three two-goal games vs. Marietta, Muskingum, and Mount Union.
This is Deever's first selection to a USC All-Region team, adding to a list of accolades that includes the 2022 Co-Freshman of the Year honor, and two All-OAC selections.
Deever helped Capital to a 7-9-4 overall record for the year and a 5-3-1 mark in conference play. The Comets advanced to the OAC Semifinals, bowing out to Mount Union 0-2, after defeating John Carroll 1-0 on the road in the OAC Quarterfinals.
