WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio Athletic Conference announced on Monday afternoon the selection of Capital University women's basketball player Bri O'Connor as the conference's Player of the Week. This past week, O'Connor spearheaded a massive second-half comeback win over #10/12 nationally ranked and previously undefeated Ohio Wesleyan. 

O'Connor scored 26 points on 10-of-19 shooting to go with seven steals, one assist and three rebounds in the effort. The Comets trailed Ohio Wesleyan by 14 points at halftime clawing their way back into the game, highlighted by O'Connor's 11 points and three steals in the fourth quarter alone. With Capital trailing 56-49 with 3:15 left in the game, O'Connor knocked down three straight 3-pointers for the Comets, eventually tying the game at 58-58 with 1:13 remaining. On Capital's next possession, Jenna Horsley converted the game-winning basket on a 3-pointer of her own, followed by an insurance free throw from Samaree Perkins to seal the 62-58 win. 

The win moved Capital to an undefeated 8-0 on the season. The Comets will now turn their sights toward MSOE on December 29th at the DePauw Amy Hasbrook Memorial Classic. 

This selection is O'Connor's second of the season and marks the 16th selection for Capital Athletics during the 2024-25 school year.
