COLUMBUS, Ohio – As announced on Tuesday morning, Capital University junior forward, Samaree Perkins has been selected to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week (ending 12/15) for her efforts in Capital's 70-60 win over Ohio Northern last Friday. 

Perkins adds this accolade to her weekly haul after she was also named the Ohio Athletic Conference's Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. This also marks Perkins' second D3hoops.com Team of the Week accolade in her career after she picked up the accolade on February 20, 2024. 

Against the Polar Bears, Perkins scored 23 points on a near perfect 7-of-8 shooting, which included a career best four 3-pointers. She also contributed six rebounds, three assists and one steal in the game. 

Perkins kept up her production in the new week as she helped the Comets to a huge upset win of #10/12 ranked Ohio Wesleyan University on Monday evening. In that game, Perkins hauled in a game-high 14 rebounds to go with nine points, two assists, two blocks and one steal. 

As of Tuesday, December 17th, Perkins leads the OAC in rebounds per game (11.3) and is tied for third in points per game (15.3). 

Since the inception of the D3hoops.com Team of the Week in January of 1998, Capital has featured nine different student-athletes for a total of 13 selections on the national team.
