WESTERVILLE, Ohio – On Monday afternoon, the Ohio Athletic Conference announced Capital University junior forward
Samaree Perkins as its pick for women's basketball Player of the Week, her first selection of the season and the third overall for the Comets.
Perkins had an incredible performance on Friday as the Purple and White pulled past Ohio Northern 70-60, putting up 23 points including a career-high four three-pointers made. She added six rebounds, three assists, and one steal while shooting 4-for-5 from three and 7-for-8 from the field.
Perkins is currently leading the OAC in rebounds per game at 10.9 and averaging a double-double with that and her conference-third 16.1 points per game. Additionally she has collected a total of 19 assists, 13 steals, and two blocks this season.
Perkins' selection makes 15 total for all CU sports in 2024-25.
Cap and Perkins are back in action at The Capital Center tonight, hosting No. 12 Ohio Wesleyan at 5:00 p.m.
