GREENWOOD, Ind. – On Tuesday afternoon, seven Capital University soccer players were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District teams for their combined work in the classroom and on the field this season.
Representing the women's side are graduate student
Avery Hart, seniors
Grace Estes and
Catherine Zugaro and junior
Liv Alford. Hart, Estes and Zugaro are all repeat honorees, while Alford is a first-time winner of this award.
On the men's team, seniors
Colton Daugherty,
Brennan Hesse, and
Colin McComb earned the award. All three players won the accolade a season ago as well.
To be eligible for this award, student-athletes must be at least of sophomore academic and athletic standing, must have at least a 3.50 GPA cumulative GPA (not-rounded), and meet other high athletic standards.
Of those featured on this list, Daugherty and Hesse have been advanced to the national ballot to be voted on for Academic All-America honors. A first, second and third team Academic All-America will be released on December 11th once national voting has been compiled.
Both the men's and women's soccer teams finished with identical 7-9-4 records and qualified for the OAC Tournament semifinals.
