NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Fresh off helping the Capital University women's lacrosse team win the OAC Tournament Championship for a second straight year,
Grace Osborn has been selected as the Co-National Offensive Player of the Week by the IWLCA. This is Osborn's second National Player of the Week honor of her career and of the season after she also picked up the honor on February 28th.
This week in the OAC Tournament, Osborn combined for 19 goals, five assists, two ground balls, a caused turnover and 15 draw controls.
In the semifinal vs. John Carroll Osborn scored six goals to go with three assists. She added two ground balls, a caused turnover and three draws in that game.
In the tournament championship on the road at Mount Union, Osborn exploded for 13 goals, two assists and 12 draw controls. Her 15 points set a new Capital single-game record and her 13 goals tied her own single-game goal record.
Heading into the weekend, Osborn and the rest of her team will take to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in their program's history. Capital will square off with Transylvania University on Saturday, May 13th at 1 p.m. on the campus of Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. The winning team will then play the host Generals on Sunday, May 14th at 1 p.m.
