Grace Osborn Selected as Second Team All-American

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Capital University women's lacrosse now has an All-American. The program's first ever All-American selection comes in the form of sophomore midfielder Grace Osborn

Osborn was named a second team All-American after a truly phenomenal year in which she has already filled the award cabinet with first team All-Region, first team All-Conference, two National Player of the Week, and two Conference Player of the Week honors.

Osborn's selection to the All-America team marks the first men's or women's lacrosse player in Capital University's history to earn the award. Further, Grace's second team honor is believed to be the highest All-America achievement from an OAC player in the conference's history.

In 2023, Osborn truly left her impact on the field, scoring 111 goals to go with 28 assists in just 16 games. Elsewhere, she picked up 36 ground balls, caused 24 turnovers and reeled in 117 draw controls.

On the national stage, Osborn's 111 goals and 139 points leads all of Division III. Additionally, her goals per game (6.94) and points per game (8.69) finished best in the nation.

This season, Grace set or matched numerous program records as well. On a single-game basis, her 13 goals and 15 points vs. Mount Union both marked records and her 13 draw controls at Muskingum sits her second most in a game.  Osborn's 29 free position goals on the year also marked a single-season best for the program. After just two years, Grace holds the career program record for most free-position goals with 53 and she sits in the top-five for career points (295), goals (237), draw controls (251), and woman-up goals (10).

This season, Capital women's lacrosse finished with an 11-5 record in what was arguably the program's toughest schedule in their history. The team won the OAC Tournament and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
