WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio Athletic Conference announced the All-Conference women's tennis teams on Friday morning and featured on that list representing Capital University were
Nicole Flock,
Anna Fletcher, and
Amy Wright-Lovell.
The selections mark the third straight year Capital has been recognized with postseason honors. Both Flock and Fletcher are repeat winners, while Wright-Lovell becomes a first time honoree.
Flock finished her sophomore year with a strong 22-12 combined record that included a 8-6 mark in the OAC. As the #2 singles player, Flock was 10-6, including 5-2 in the OAC. Paired with Fletcher at #1 doubles, she was 12-6 overall and 3-4 in the conference. Flock was named to the second team this year after previously being honorable mention.
Fletcher wrapped up her sophomore season with a combined record of 19-16. As the team's #1 singles player all year, Fletcher was 7-10 and 2-5 in the OAC. Paired with Flock at #1 doubles, Fletcher was 12-6 and 3-4 in the OAC. This is her second consecutive second team selection.
Wright-Lovell ended her junior season with a combined record of 18-11. In singles, Wright-Lovell played #3, #4 and #5 and compiled a mark of 8-5 that included a 2-2 OAC mark. In doubles, Wright-Lovell paired with a handful of different teammates to go 10-6 at the #3 spot. She was 4-2 against conference opponents. Her honorable mention selection is the first postseason honor of her career.
The trio of All-OAC winners helped lead the Comets to a 10-8 record overall this year, including a 4-3 mark in the OAC. The record was the program's best since the team went 12-8 in 2004.
