NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Just one day after being named the conference player of the week, Capital University sophomore midfielder
Grace Osborn has been selected as the IWLCA National Player of the Week.
Osborn is the first Capital player to be selected as the National Player of the Week and is believed to be the first in the OAC.
The national recognition comes on the heels of Osborn's commanding performance in Capital's 23-13 win at Centre College this past Saturday. In that game, Grace scored 10 goals, recorded two assists and stacked the box score with a ground ball, two caused turnovers and nine draw controls. Her 10 goals marked the third time in her career in which she has netted double-digit goals in a single game.
Currently, Osborn has 17 goals on the year, which leads the NCAA Division III in goals per game (8.50). As a team, Capital is fourth in the nation in scoring offense, averaging 22.50 goals per game through their first two contests.
Osborn will be back on the field with her team this Wednesday, March 1st as Capital welcomes Kenyon College to Bernlohr Stadium for a 7 p.m. first draw.
