WESTERVILLE Ohio – On Monday afternoon, the Ohio Athletic Conference announced the selections of
Julia Foresi and
Luci Kanowsky as the women's lacrosse offensive and defensive players of the week.
Both players helped Capital move to 1-0 on the year with a 22-12 win away to Oberlin College.
Kanowsky earned the offensive honor after scoring a career-high nine goals against the Yeowomen. The nine goals came off of a perfect 13-for-13 in shots on target. In addition to her goal production, Kanowsky added a ground ball in the game. The award was the third player of the week accolade of her career.
Foresi won the defensive accolade after helping the Comets establish control of the game at Oberlin, leading the team to 23 draw controls as a unit. Her efforts yielded a career-best 12 controls individually. Additionally, Julia scored one goal and tallied a new career-high six assists on the offensive end of the field. Defensively, she picked up two ground balls and was responsible for one caused turnover. This accolade is the first weekly honor of her career.
The pair will be back on the field this weekend alongside the rest of their team as they travel down to Centre College in Danville, Kentucky for a 1 p.m. first draw on Saturday, February 25th.
