ALLIANCE, Ohio – Capital University track and field sent a small group of mid-distance runners to the Raider Tune-Up, hosted by Mount Union this afternoon. There, the group was hoping to improve their season times with ambition to better their seeding for the OAC Championships next weekend.
The highlight of the day proved to be the ladies 1,000 meter run as both Comets in the race put forth new top-10 times in the program's history.
MEN
500m Dash:
Nick Stuck sprinted his way around 500 meters in 1:12.16, good enough to place 11th overall. The time was nearly four tenths of a second faster than his previous PR.
1,000m Run:
Donovan Slattery improved his season-PR ever so slightly with a mark of 2:42.19 in the 1K. The time was not a lifetime PR however.
WOMEN
1,000m Run: Both
Alexa Daley and
Elizabeth Mak put down high-quality times in the 1K run, as they both established new marks on the program top-10 list. Daley placed second overall in the event with a time of 3:12.52, good for fifth fastest in program history. Mak was just behind in third place with a time of 3:15.61. That time was a near five-second PR and moved her from 10th to eighth on the all-time list in the event.
