COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Wednesday, October 5th, the Capital University football team welcomed the Bexley Youth Football League to Bernlohr Stadium for a joint practice between the two programs. 

"We were honored for Bexley Youth Football to join us for practice yesterday," said head football coach Brian Foos. "I'd like to send a big thanks to the players, Coach Doyaga, his fellow coaches, and the families of the players for joining us out yesterday. It was a fantastic day."

Throughout the practice, Capital ran their drills as demonstration, and then were followed up by the youth players running the same drills and putting in the same work. When not running the drills themselves, the Comet players and coaches shifted their attention to coaching up the next generation of college football players. 

"I cannot thanks Coach Foos, his staff, and the wonderful Capital players for an amazing experience for our players," said Bexley Coach Justin Doyaga. "The kids just loved it. While at first they were nervous to do something new in front of college football players, the Capital players made them feel right at home and our group learned a lot from them."

"It was great to see so many local youth involved with football," continued Foos. "I hope they got as much out of that practice as we did. It was truly fun watching both sets of players interact together on the football field."

In an effort to continue to grow this partnership between Capital Football and the Bexley Youth Football League, the Comets are inviting all youth football players and their families out to a future game. Saturday, October 29th at 1:30 p.m., Capital hosts Baldwin Wallace University. Any youth football players who arrive wearing their jersey will gain free admission to the game, along with one (1) parent or family member. Gates to the game open at 12:30 p.m.
