COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital men's track & field team placed third in the Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge hosted by Baldwin Wallace University. In the three-team meet, Otterbein took the top spot with 123 points, Baldwin Wallace second with 86 and Capital third with 65.
 

• All-American Josh Miller continued his winning ways, taking to the circle for the weight throw first and handily winning with a throw of 17.70-meters (58-1). Shortly thereafter, the senior picked up his second win of the day, heaving the shot put 16.28-meters (53-5).
• Freshman Hayden Shaffer set a personal record with a throw of 13.37-meters (43-10 ½) in the shot put which placed him second.
• Sophomore Evan Kaising also competed in the shot put, turning in a best toss of 10.23-meters (33-6 ¾).
• Freshman Daniel Hiser competed in the long jump, placing second in the event with a long leap of 18-feet and seven-inches and later in the day clocked a time of 6.73 in the 55-meter dash to finish second.
• Sophomore Andy Fullmer began his long day with a second place finish in the pole vault, clearing 3.51-meters (11-6 ¼) before also placing second in the high jump with a jump of 1.70-meters (5-7). His day continued on the running side, beginning with a fourth place finish in the 55-meter hurdles at 9.39-seconds then with an eighth place spot in the 800-meter run (2:19.55).
• Freshman Donovan Slattery kicked off the running events for the Crusaders, finishing ninth with a time of 4:55.85 in the mile. His next event was the 1000-meter run in which he logged a time of 2:59.63 to finish fifth.
• Sophomore Kelly Wilson finished the 400-meter dash in fourth place and suffered a disqualification in the 55-meter hurdles.
• Freshman Ashley Bryson turned in a time of 58.73 in the 400-meter dash, good enough for fifth, and a time of 26.17 in the 200-meter dash to place fifth.
• Sophomore Jonathan Brown set a personal best in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 24.03 to finish second.

Next week, Capital will host the sprint and jump events as part of the OAC Elite Meet on February 14 as the distance and throw events take place at Otterbein.
