COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University men's and women's track & field teams participated in the Ohio Athletic Conference Elite Meet on Sunday, February 14. Josh Miller came away with two more victories while throwing inside the friendly confines of The Capital Center. While the throwers and pole vaulters competed in their home field house, CU's runners and jumpers went to compete at Otterbein University's Rike Center in a split-meet format.

Senior thrower Josh Miller (Botkins, Ohio / Botkins) again dominated the field in both the weight throw and shot put, winning both events. With his second toss in the weight throw, Miller hit his top mark which measured in at 17.33 meters (56-10 ¼). Later in the afternoon, Miller came back and launched a winning throw of 16.49 meters (54-1 ¼) in the shot put for his second victory of the day.
In other top performances logged on Sunday, freshman Zion Park (Newark, Ohio) placed fourth in the men's pole vault after clearing 3.95 meters (12-11 ½) , matching his personal best.

Sophomore Alexa Poling finished seventh in the women's weight throw behind a best throw of 12.68 meters (41-7 ¼).  She also finished ninth in the shot put behind a 10.89-meter (35-8 ¾) throw.
Also in the throwing ring, Jon Kirk placed eighth and upped his PR by 0.04 meters after recorded a throw of 13.06 meters (42 10 ¼).

Freshman Daniel Hiser lowered his PR by 0.02 seconds in the 60-meter dash after logging a 7.28-second time and finishing ninth, narrowly missing the cut for the finals by one-tenth of a second.

Donovan Slattery dropped 10 seconds off of his personal record in the one-mile run after crossing the line in 4:45.11 and finished 10th overall.
