WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- On Monday afternoon, the Ohio Athletic Conference announced two Capital University soccer players as Conference Players of the Week.
On the women's side, junior forward
Avery Hart was selected as the OAC Offensive Player of the Week, while freshman goalkeeper
Brady Frydl claimed the OAC Defensive Player of the Week for the men.
Hart lifted the women to their first two wins of the season this past week by netting the game winning goal in both a 1-0 win over Wittenberg and a 3-0 win over Baldwin Wallace. The two goals lifted Hart to a team-leading three goals on the season. Additionally last week, Hart added an assist on Capital's third goal of the game against BW.
Frydl started his second game of the season for the Capital men on Saturday evening at Baldwin Wallace. In the match, he tallied six saves and held a clean sheet across the 90 minutes of action and held the team to secure the 1-0 win. The freshman's first start this season was also a six-save shutout against Wooster. Frydl remains the only goalkeeper left on the Capital roster yet to concede a goal this season.
Both soccer programs will be in action and look to continue their hot run of form this Wednesday against Heidelberg University. The men will travel to Tiffin for a 4 p.m. kickoff time, while the women will host the Student Princes for a 7 p.m. start time.
