GAME 1 – Capital 4, Alma 5

Box score

Alma College (4-0) tagged Capital sophomore pitcher Kim Rega for two runs in the bottom of the first. Cassidy Tucker hit a leadoff double and later came around to score when Kaylee Martin drove her home with a two-out, run-scoring single. Martin then came around to score with Becca Spenner's single on the following at-bat.

The Crusaders scored runs in the second and third innings to tie the game, 2-2. Alyx Slusher drew a one-out walk and later scored on Hannah Martin's two-out, RBI single in the top of the second. In the third, two walks and one base hit set the table for a passed ball from Alma pitcher Emma Fraser. Pinch runner Tiffany Zuelzke scored to tie the game. With runners at second and third, Capital had a run stopped short when Erica Ogden was caught between third and home on the next batted ball.

The same sequence occurred in the line score where Alma scored two runs in the third followed by Capital responding with single runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Down 4-2, Ogden hit a two-out triple and scored on sophomore Lauren Kachure's run-scoring single. In the next inning, Alyx Slusher's leadoff single helped Cap tie the game. Hannah Martin hit a ball to right field leading to a three-base error that scored Slusher from first.

The game was decided in the bottom of the seventh when Alma benefitted from an error to lead off the frame. Hannah Cambre reached on an error by Rega and then three consecutive singles from the top of the Britton's lineup eventually plated the game-winning run in walk-off fashion.

Capital (1-2) recorded five hits, all by different players. Kim Rega (L, 0-1) pitched six innings with just two of the five runs allowed being earned.

GAME 2 – CABRINI 4, CAPITAL 1

Box score

Cabrini did most of its damage in the top of the first inning with three of its four runs crossing the plate behind just two hits. Alexandra Schell led the game off with a triple; After Aysiah Cintron walked, a fielder's choice allowed Schell to score. A double steal set the table for Olivia Young's two-run single before Capital starter Lexie Anderson (L, 0-1) forced an inning-ended double play.

Capital scored one in the bottom of the first inning when Lauren Kachure hit an RBI double, scoring Morgan Fadel who led the inning off with a single.

The Crusaders' bats fell silent and were only able to muster four hits over the course of the seven-inning affair. While sophomore Kim Rega was able to limit the damage and allowed just one run in her six innings of work, Cap was unable to muster any sort of rally against Cabrini starting pitcher Grace Stairiker (W, 2-1). Rega allowed just two hits and one unearned run in relief.
