KEY ACTION

  • Capital sophomore Luci Kanowsky scored the team's first goal of the season just 31 seconds into the game off of a feed from senior Kathryn Walton.

  • Capital's defense provided a serious challenge to the Centre offense. The Colonels successfully cleared the ball just 2-of-6 times in the first half. They also converted just 1-of-3 free-position shots, which helped Cap take a 7-4 lead into the locker room.
  • To open the second half, Delara scored on a free-position shot once again, which set off a run of Capital goals. The Crusaders tallied four of the first five goals of the second half to take an 11-5 lead. Senior Kathryn Walton scored her first goal of the season amongst that run.
  • Up six goals, the Crusaders began to play a possession-type game to wind the clock down, limiting Centre's chances at a comeback. After allowing 12 shots in the first, Cap limited the Colonels to nine in the second half.
