Crusaders Cruise Past Muskies with Second Straight 20-Goal Game

Box Score

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University women's lacrosse team improved to 8-2 overall and 2-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference play after recording its fourth 20-plus goal match of the season. The Crusaders defeated Muskingum University, 20-1, at Bernlohr Stadium on Saturday evening.

Freshman Regan Hanood (Pickerington, Ohio/North) and freshman Kara Hines (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) each scored four goals to lead the Crusaders in scoring. Hanood, fresh off of a record-setting game last Wednesday, also added two assists to make for nine this week.

Sophomore Korri Titus (Pickerington, Ohio/North) had her hand on the most Capital goals, scoring twice and adding five assists for a grand total of seven points.

Capital scored the game's first 11 goals before Muskingum scratched the scoreboard. The Capital defense, which ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division III entering the match, would not allow the Muskies to score again, shutting them out in the second half.

The ground ball advantage favored Capital by a 29-9 margin. They also outshot Muskingum, 34-8.

Sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Wilson made four saves out of five attempts, allowing just one goal.

With her four goals, Hines now leads the Crusaders and the Ohio Athletic Conference in goals scored with 49.

Saturday's win marked Capital's second straight match having scored 20 or more goals, each leading to wins. They now have scored 20 or more goals in four games this season, all coming within the last six games.

They now square up against crosstown rival Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio on Wednesday, April 15 for a match under the lights of Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m.
