COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University women's lacrosse team used an explosive first half to cruise past the Franklin College Grizzlies 19-2 on Saturday afternoon.

Capital (2-0) opened the game with four goals in the first five minutes of play. After Capital won the first draw control of the contest, sophomore midfielder Korri Titus (Pickerington, Ohio) scored the first goal of the game. Less than a minute later, Victoria Husain (Westerville, Ohio) scored from a free position shot. Titus scored her second goal at the 23:37 mark to push Capital's lead to 5-0.

Franklin midfielder Hannah Grow scored the first goal in program history with 53 seconds left in the first half.

Capital continued its aggressive play, taking a 14-1 lead into intermission.

The Crusaders used a conservative approach in the second half to complete the victory.

Five Crusaders scored three goals or more as freshman midfielder Kara Hines (Columbus, Ohio) led the way with four. Hines, Husain, and Titus each recorded five shots.

Capital outshot Franklin (0-1) 30-7, while also holding a 19-4 advantage in draw controls.

Sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Wilson (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) finished with a pair of saves as she improved her goalkeeping record to 2-0.

The Crusaders return to action against Alma College (1-2) on Saturday March, 14 at 2 p.m.
