Volleyball Drops Road Match at Ohio Wesleyan

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Capital University volleyball team traveled across town to take on Ohio Wesleyan University for their first road trip of the season on Friday night. There, the Comets fell to the Bishops, 3-0 (12-25, 19-25, 16-25).

With the result, Capital drops to 0-2 on the season, while OWU levels out to 1-1.

The story of the match proved to be in the offense as OWU found success early and sustained a solid attacking percentage throughout the match, while Capital could not keep pace.

When all was said and done, the Comets were led offensively by Ava Knight who had five kills. She was followed closely by Chloe Preocanin and Cici Harris who each landed four kills. Abby Reed and Jasmine Easterday accounted for the other kills.

Carlee Thompson finished with eight assists and two aces to lead the team in both categories. Preocanin and Sidney Hains each had an ace as well.

In defense, Abby Reed had four blocks, while Preocanin, Hains, Knight, Harris and Emily Waites each were in on one block.
