PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The Capital University women's soccer team traveled to Carnegie Mellon University on Wednesday night, falling to the Tartans, 1-0, in a tightly contested match. CMU entered the contest receiving votes in the national rankings.Â
Carnegie Mellon struck early, scoring in the third minute on a goal from Audrey Bianco to take a 1-0 lead. The Tartans held onto the advantage for the remainder of the match.
Capital recorded five shots, including one on goal. Goalkeeper
Lauren Hinshaw made three saves during the 90-minute contest and stopped a penalty kick attempt to keep the Comets within striking distance.
With the loss, Capital moves to 5-2-0 on the season, while Carnegie Mellon improves to 6-1-1.
