Greencastle, Ind. — The Capital women's soccer team continued its road stretch this weekend after defeating Trine on Wednesday, traveling to Indiana to take on the DePauw Tigers in a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
The Comets came away with a 2-1 victory over the Tigers, scoring twice in the first half to set the tone. With the win, Capital improves to 3-1 on the season, while DePauw falls to 3-2.
Capital jumped out to an early lead in the first half when freshman
Megan Foulke found the back of the net in the 10th minute for her second goal of the season, putting the Comets ahead 1-0.
The Comets doubled their advantage later in the half after a strong offensive sequence.
Sofia Walton delivered a perfectly placed pass across the field to find
Kylie Lewis, who finished the play to give Capital a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
DePauw responded in the second half with a penalty-kick goal from Joie Carpenter, cutting the deficit to 2-1. The Comets' defense held strong from there, keeping the Tigers off the scoreboard for the remainder of the match to secure the road victory.

Lauren Hinshaw played all 90 minutes and recorded three saves to help preserve the win.
