GAMBIER, Ohio – The Capital University baseball team squared up with Kenyon College for the third time this season on Wednesday evening. After the Comets took the first two games of the season-series, the Owls emerged victorious tonight, 13-5.
The result brings Capital's record to 11-8 and Kenyon's to 10-8.
Kenyon jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings, but Capital responded with a pair of runs in the third thanks to an RBI single by
Robby Harrison and
Ty Clifton.
Kenyon answered back, extending their lead out to 7-2 in the fourth, but Capital got a third run in the fifth on another RBI single from Harrison.
Capital trimmed the gap to 8-5 in the sixth as
Bryce Kyees smacked a two-RBI double to right field, but from there, Kenyon scored five more runs to defend home field with the 13-5 win.
Robby Harrison led the team with three hits, followed by
Bryce Kyees and
Ty Clifton with two each.
Charlie Colson,
Kielan LaMarr,
Hutch Crociata, and Michael Andrysczcyk each had one.
The Comets threw eight pitchers in the game with
Will Furry starting and tossing three innings. Of the staff, Furry and
Casey Wilkins each had a strikeout.

Capital baseball will next be in action on Saturday, March 28th as they travel to No. 25 ranked Baldwin Wallace for a doubleheader. Things will get started in Berea at 1 p.m.
