GREENWOOD, Ind. – On Tuesday afternoon, four Capital University basketball players were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team for their combined work in the classroom and on the court this season.
Selected this year for the women were senior
Samaree Perkins, junior
Kendall Spreen and sophomore
Kya Jordan. For the men's team, sophomore
Cade Davies earned the distinction. Perkins is a third time recipient of All-District honors in basketball while Spreen, Jordan and Davies are all first-time recipients of the CSC Academic All-District honor.
To be eligible for this award, student-athletes must be at least sophomore academic and athletic standing, must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (not-rounded), and meet other high athletic standards.
Of those featured on the list,
Samaree Perkins has been advanced to the national ballot where she will now be considered for Academic All-America honors. Voting will take place over the following couple of weeks before the women's basketball CSC Academic All-America honors are announced on Wednesday, April 15th.
