COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University Associate Director of Athletics,
Dustin Rudegeair announced the addition of Adelyn Fitzgerald as the department's first Internal Operations Coordinator. The newly created position will serve areas of the department including student-athlete success, academics, eligibility, game operations and more.
"Adelyn stood out from the beginning of the search with her experiences and understanding of this position," stated Rudegeair. "Once we got to meet her, it was clear she would be a great fit for not just our department but the university as well. As a former Division III player and coach, she has a firm grasp on the numerous commitments that student-athletes balance on a daily basis. We feel she can make an immediate impact on the student-athlete experience and are excited to have her as the newest member of the Capital Athletics team."

Fitzgerald, a native of Pennsylvania, comes to Columbus after spending the past four years coaching women's soccer at the collegiate level. Most recently, she was an assistant coach at Limestone University and prior to that served as an assistant coach for two seasons at Washington & Jefferson College.
Prior to entering the coaching realm, Fitzgerald worked as a Ticketing Events Assistant for the 12th Man Foundation and as an Intern with Texas A&M University's women's soccer program. During this time, she also completed her Master of Science in Sport Management from Texas A&M University in May of 2020.
As an undergraduate student, Fitzgerald completed her degree in Athletic Training from Roanoke College where she was a member of the women's soccer team. She graduated from Roanoke in May of 2018.
Fitzgerald was notably a participant in the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar in February of 2021. She also holds a National D License from US Soccer, a Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma and a Sports Psychology and Individual Mental Skills Diploma from United Soccer Coaches.
