WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Capital University track and field team traveled to Wilmington College's second outdoor meet of the spring season on Saturday afternoon.
There, the Comets were able to get their feet wet competing on the same track that will host the OAC Championship meet this coming week.
Nolan Piper's hammer throw toss moved him up to second all-time in the event at Capital, highlighting the day for the Comets.
MEN
1,500m Run:
Kolin Brake crossed the line in 4:17.55 to place 11th.
Aiden Smith was 17th overall in 4:37.87.
100m Dash:
Dom Glenn was runner-up in the event, clocking a time of 10.90 seconds.
200m Dash:
Cheik Souare was a third place finisher, running a time of 22.05 seconds.
Discus:
Nolan Piper placed sixth with a distance of 40.06 meters.
Waylon Yeager placed eighth in a distance of 38.61 meters.
Hammer Throw:
Nolan Piper threw a monstrous 50.26 meters to place fourth in the event and jump up one spot in the program top-10 standings to second overall in Cap history.
Shot Put: Piper was again the leader in the shot put, placing sixth overall with a measure of 13.73 meters.
Waylon Yeager was 10th overall with a distance of 12.09 meters.
Triple Jump:
Justin Mathews was the winner of the event, marking 13.63 meters.
WOMEN
1,500m Run:
Catherine Schaub ran a time of 5:39.80 to place seventh overall.
200m Dash:
Jaleea Harvey was 15th overall with a time of 27.49 seconds.
Pole Vault:
Alex Wilkinson placed fourth in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 3.07 meters.
Discus:
Mia Sanchez finished fourth with a distance of 31.98 meters.
Hammer Throw:
Mia Sanchez was 12th overall with a toss of 35.54 meters.
DeiVon McCullough was 14th, throwing 34.07 meters.
Shot Put:
DeiVon McCullough was fifth with a toss of 10.20 meters, followed by
Mia Sanchez in seventh with a mark of 9.83 meters.

Capital will turn their attention to the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships on Thursday and Friday of this coming week. The meet will take place at Wilmington College on May 1st and 2nd.
