COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University baseball team hosted Senior Day at Huntington Park on Saturday afternoon where they played against Baldwin Wallace. There, the visitors stole the results via 11-2 and 8-4 scores.
The results move Capital to 14-22 overall and 5-11 in the OAC, while BW improves to 23-12 overall and 11-5 in the conference.
SENIOR DAY
After game two's completion, the Comets program recognized seniors

Hunter Wilson,
Colin Boldin,
Kaleb Stafford,
Daniel Collier,
Ben Mohler,
Logan Detty and
Ryne McKinney for their respective careers in the Purple and White.
GAME ONE
The Comets got started on top of game one as
Robby Harrison hit a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the second inning. Despite the lead, BW found five runs in the top of the third and another three in the fourth to move up 9-1.
Ryne McKinney then hit a solo home run of his own in the bottom of the sixth to make it 9-2.
BW tacked on two more in the eighth inning to seal an 11-2 win.
The Comets recorded four hits in the game – one each from Harrison, McKinney,
Charlie Colson and
Cole Boroff. Cap also drew five walks.
Trevor Woodyard started and pitched three innings where he allowed seven hits and four walks yielding eighth runs.
Casey Wilkins (4.2 IP, 5 H, 3 R) and
Logan Detty (1.1 IP, 1 K) combined for the relief.
GAME TWO
The Comets fell behind 2-0 in the first, but tied the game in the bottom of the second.
Diego Cancel hit an RBI double and then scored himself on an RBI single by
Bryce Kyees to make it 2-2.
Then, both teams decided the long ball was the way to go as BW would hit four home runs and Capital one over the next seven innings. The Comets' home run came off the bat of
Ty Clifton.
After the big hitting, the score settled at 8-3 heading to the bottom of the ninth. There, the Comets got a consolation run on an RBI single from
Arnulfo Gonzalez to make it 8-4.
Of the Comets' eighth hits,
Ryne McKinney and
Bryce Kyees each had two and
Charlie Colson,
Ty Clifton,
Diego Cancel and
Arnulfo Gonzalez each had one.
William Furry threw six innings in the start, allowing nine hits, five runs and three strikeouts.
Tyler Bebout (1.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R), and
Ben Mohler (2.0 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 1 K) combined for the relief.

Capital will wrap up their season on Saturday, May 3rd on the road at Marietta College. First pitch against the Pioneers is slated for 1 p.m.
