DELAWARE, Ohio – The Capital University Track and Field program competed at the All-Ohio Championships this weekend on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University. There, the Comets put forth numerous personal best times and even added their names to nine program top-10 lists.
Below is a summary of the performances…
FRIDAY - WOMEN
Shot Put -
DeiVon McCullough finished 16th overall with her best throw marking 10.26 meters.
10,000-Meter Run -
Olivia Ellis earned a spot on the podium by placing third overall in the 10K. Her time of 40:36.21 was also good enough to place her fourth best in Capital history in the event.
SATURDAY - WOMEN
Pole Vault -
Alex Wilkinson made a statement in the pole vault, clearing 3.15 meters, which marks a new PR and bumps her up to fifth all-time in the event at Capital.
Discus -
Secora Jones threw a measure of 30.04 meters to place 25th.
Hammer -
Mia Sanchez marked 40.59 meters with her best throw, placing her 10th overall. The mark was also good enough to put Sanchez 10th all-time at Capital.
200-Meter Dash -
Jaleea Harvey crossed the line in a time of 27.84 seconds to finish 21st.
400-Meter Dash - Harvey competed in the full lap sprint as well, finished 17th in a time of 1:04.66.
5,000-Meter Run -
Catherine Schaub was 15th overall in a time of 20:05.61. The time was good enough to place 10th all-time at Capital in the event.
FRIDAY - MEN
Shot Put -
Nolan Piper tossed a distance of 13.44 meters on his best throw, placing 13th overall.
3,000-Meter Steeplechase -
Mikey Arnone finished fifth in the event, running a time of 9:49.23. The time for Arnone was good enough to move him up to third all-time in Capital history.
Aiden Mahony placed 18th in a time of 10:19.29, which set a new PR and moved him up to eighth all-time in the event at Capital.
10,000-Meter Run -
Zach Glotzbecker paced a duo of Comets in the event by finishing 11th in a time of 32:47.61, while
Aaron McNutt was 13th with a time of 32:58.50. Both times marked personal bests and put both runners in the top-four in program history. Glotzbecker's time moves up to third overall, while McNutt is now fourth best in Capital history.
SATURDAY - MEN
Hammer -
Nolan Piper placed eighth overall with a top throw of 48.40 meters.
Discus -
Waylon Yeager tossed his way to fifth place with a heave of 41.66 meters.
Nolan Piper added a measure of 39.13 meters to place 10th.
Javelin -
Jason McColl finished eighth best in the event with a mark of 43.86 meters.
100-Meter Dash -
Cheik Souare and
Dom Glenn finished neck and neck, with Souare placing 5th in 10.91 seconds and Glenn crossing the line in sixth with a time of 10.95 seconds.
200-Meter Dash - Again Souare and Glenn were neck and neck in the 200, with Souare clocking in at 22.43 seconds for ninth place and Glenn finishing in 10th with a time of 22.45 seconds.
800-Meter Run -
Kolin Brake finished in seventh place with a time of 1:58.98.
1,500-Meter Run - Brake was at it again in the 1,500, finishing 15th with a time of 4:06.19. His time was good to set him seventh fastest in school history.
