NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Capital University track and field program opened up the outdoor portion of their 2025 schedule by competing at Muskingum's Amy Adams Invitational.
There, the Comets put forth four program top-10 marks and many other quality season-opening performances.
WOMEN
Pole Vault:
Alex Wilkinson vaulted a height of 3.05 meters which marked a career-best and moved her up to sixth all-time in Cap history.
Discus Throw:
Secora Jones threw 30.74 meters to place 11th.
Mia Sanchez was 14th with a toss of 29.22 meters.
Shot Put:
DeiVon McCullough placed seventh with a toss of 10.14 meters. Sanchez was 10th, marking 9.39 meters.
Hammer Throw:
Mia Sanchez was tops for Capital, placing 14th with a throw of 33.51 meters. Jones was 16th, marking 32.80 meters. McCullough was 17th, throwing 32.15 meters.
Long Jump:
Zara Brown marked 3.47 meters to place 10th.
100-meter dash:
Jaleea Harvey placed 10th with a time of 13.53 seconds. Brown was 22nd, running 15.36 meters.
400-Meter Dash: Harvey ran the full lap race in 1:04.82.
5,000-Meter Run:
Olivia Ellis was sixth in a time of 20:32.08.
Catherine Schaub was 8th in 21:04.90.
MEN
3,000-Meter Steeplechase:
Mikey Arnone ran a time of 10:11.57 to finish third, followed by
Aiden Mahony's time of 10:43.29 in fourth. Arnone's time was good to mark the seventh best time in program history. Mahony's time is the ninth best time in program history.
Javelin Throw:
Jason McColl won the event, throwing a distance of 48.28 meters, which is good enough to improve his own standing in 10th all-time at Capital.
Hammer Throw:
Nolan Piper was third with a throw of 49.73 meters, which moves him up to third all-time in Capital history.
Discus Throw:
Waylon Yeager placed runner-up with a toss of 40.24 meters.
Nolan Piper was 10th with a mark of 35.79 meters.
Shot Put: Piper was runner-up in the shot with his best throw marking 13.66 meters. Yeager placed 10th with a toss of 10.86 meters.
Pole Vault:
Jason McColl was seventh with a vault of 3.35 meters.
100-Meter Dash:
Justin Mathews was 17th with a time of 11.70 seconds, while Nate Archibald was 26th in 12.67 seconds.
4x100-Meter Relay: The quartet of
Cheik Souare,
Dom Glenn,
Justin Mathews and Nate Archibald ran a time of 44.13 seconds to finish fourth.
1,500-Meter Run:
Aiden Smith ran a time of 4:51.81 to place 24th.
400-Meter Dash: Souare clocked in at 51.48 seconds to place eighth overall.
200-Meter Dash:
Dom Glenn finished sixth with a time of 22.87 seconds. Archibald was 26th in 25.43 seconds.
