Comets Defeat Adrian for Third Win in a Row

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Capital University men's basketball team was back at home on Saturday, Nov. 15 to take on Adrian College.  A dominant first half from the Comets allowed them to cruise to the 79-56 victory.  With the win, Capital has begun the season 3-0.  Meanwhile, Adrian falls to 1-3.

The first 10 minutes of the game would get off to a slow start, with the score sitting at 9-16 in favor of the Comets halfway through the first half of play.  The last ten minutes, however, would be dominated by Capital.  Putting the exclamation point on the half was McKane Finkenbine, as he would record two quick buckets in the last minute to put the score at 47-25.

The start of the second half would see more of the same, with Tristyn Ambrose-Pearce cashing in on a three point attempt and a quick layup to push the Comet lead to 37 with just over 10 minutes left to play.  The junior finished with nine rebounds and two assists to go along with five points.

The large lead allowed the Comets to empty the bench, as 14 players would see action on the way to closing out the 79-56 victory.

Leading the way offensively was Julian Mitchell, who would finish with 14 points on 4-5 shooting from the field.  He would go a perfect 3-3 from beyond the arc.

Joining Mitchell with double digits in the scoring column was Kamran Ensley, who finished with 12 points.  The freshman would also add four assists and four rebounds to round out his day.

McKane Finkenbine, Brody Gowen, and Se'Ron Calloway-White would all finish with nine points in the game.  Scoring his first points of the season was Cade Davies, who would finish with six points on 2-3 shooting from beyond the three point line.
