NEW CONCORD, Ohio - The Capital University women's soccer team was back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 29 for an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) match-up with Muskingum University. On a very rainy evening, the Comets would take a dominant 4-1 win. With the victory, Capital now stands at 9-5-2 overall and 4-2-1 in OAC play. Meanwhile, Muskingum falls to 2-15 overall and 0-7 in conference.
The Comets would jump out to an early 1-0 lead thanks to
Kendra Kovacs' first career collegiate goal. Just over 15 minutes later
Lizzie Elliott would find the back of the net to double the Capital lead. The senior now joins teammates
Bella Leonetti,
Juli Sprague, and
Sofia Walton with four goals on the season.
The game would be put out of reach by the Comets in the second half, as
Mayci Sayre and
Maggie McGlone would score in the 69th and 74th minutes to give them a 4-0 lead.
Lauren Hinshaw would make her first appearance of the year, getting the start in goal. She would allow just one goal and record four saves.

The Comets will conclude regular season play on Saturday, Nov. 1 when they welcome in Mount Union. The game will kick-off at 1 pm with senior day festivities beginning at 12:40 pm.
