COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University volleyball team hosted Ohio Northern on Saturday afternoon where they fell by a final score of 3-1. The Comets dropped the first set before taking the second set to make it 1-1. From there, ONU regrouped and won sets three and four to secure the win. The sets went ONU's way in the form of 25-15, 22-25, 25-10 and 25-19 scores.
The result brings Capital's record to 2-19 overall and 0-4 in the conference, while Ohio Northern is 8-14 overall and 2-3 in the OAC.
In the match, the offense was led by
Chloe Preocanin who landed 10 kills, followed by both
Ryann Bunyak and
Olivia Milton who ended with nine kills each.
Carlee Thompson guided the offense with 27 assists, while
Kenadee Winters added eight assists and
Abby Brunner set up four helpers.
In the back row, Brunner was the leader with 19 digs, followed by Winters with nine digs and
Shy Black with eight.
At the service line, Capital landed seven aces – two each from Black and Preocanin and one a piece from Brunner, Winters, and
Abby Reed.
At the net, Capital combined for one block between Bunyak and Milton.
