MARIETA, Ohio – The Capital University volleyball team hit the road to No. 18 nationally ranked Marietta College on Wednesday night where they fell by a final score of 3-0. The sets went the way of the Pioneers by scores of 25-12, 25-20 and 25-15.
Capital is now 2-17 overall and 0-3 in the OAC. Marietta improved to 13-4 overall and 4-0 in the conference.
Capital's offense was led by a pair of six-kill performances from
Ryann Bunyak and
Chloe Preocanin.
Olivia Milton added four kills and
Samaree Perkins contributed three kills.
Carlee Thompson guided the offense with 16 assists.
At the service line, Capital landed five aces with two coming from
Abby Brunner and one each from Thompson, Preocanin and
Makenna Sullivan.
In the back row,
Shy Black led the team with 13 digs, while Brunner was close behind with 12. Sullivan added eight as well.
At the net, Capital combined for one block between
Abby Reed and Perkins.

Capital will be back in action for two matches this coming weekend, first traveling to Kenyon College on Friday, October 17th before hosting Ohio Northern on Saturday, October 18th.
