LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Capital University men's bowling team ventured south to Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday for their first of two competitions this weekend. The Comets finished 20th in the loaded field of competition that featured five of the top-10 teams in the USBC national rankings.
Nonetheless, Capital's squad found success, breaking their previous team record for highest round score at 931, while also getting good individual performances as well.
The Comets put together team games of 817, 792, 931, and 818 to compile 3,358 pins through the first section of action. The score of 931 pins beat the previous school record of 836 set earlier this season.
After eight baker games factored into the team scoring, Capital totaled up 4,391 pins on the day.
Individually, threw
Jaylen Gooding,
Baylee Becker,
Carlos Patterson,
Chase Young and
Logan Dimel.
Becker was the top finisher for Capital, throwing a total score of 739 and a high game of 234.
Patterson was next for Capital, totaling 721 pins and a high score of 203.
Young was next, registering 683 total pins with a high game of 202.
Dimel was next, racking up 642 pins with a best game of 188.
Gooding rounded it out in his Comet debut, scoring 573 pins with a top score of 191.
