ADDISON, Ill. – The Capital University men's and women's bowling teams took to the lanes for the first time in the New Year as they traveled to Illinois to take part in the Storm Baker Challenge.
The event was set up to feature 40 baker games – 24 on Saturday and 16 on Sunday. The top four teams after the baker games would go through to match play to determine the winner.
In the final varsity standings of the weekend, Capital placed eighth on the women's side and ninth on the men's side. The women totaled 5,013 pins, while the men racked up 6,573 pins.
Across the weekend, the Comet bowling program tracked the fewest open frames with
Jordan Hull and
Emily Weishaar being the bowlers to leave the fewest open frames.
Another highlight of the weekend was
Baylee Becker on the men's side throwing nine strikes in a row individually through baker games 10 and 12.
The Comet men's high score totaled 213 pins, while the women topped out at 194.

Capital will now turn their focus to two events in Louisville, Kentucky on January 25th and 26th. First, Capital will roll at the MSC Lynne Jordan Memorial on the 25th before taking part in the Thomas N. Burris Memorial on the 26th.
