GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Capital University women's soccer team (0-2-0) traveled east to play Denison (1-1-0) on Sunday afternoon in a relatively uneventful game that would be won with two late goals by the hosts, 2-0.
After 73 minutes of scoreless play, Denison would score the deciding blow in the 74th minute, adding an insurance goal in the 80th.
THE NUMBERS
Capital got their fair share of scoring chances, putting four of seven total shots on frame. The Comets were outshot by the Big Red who put 8-of-16 on frame.
Rachel Austin led the offense with two of her three shots on line.
Grace Estes and
Ryanne Michel also had a shot on target each, with
Nicole Ogden taking one that fell off line.
Liv Alford (0-2-0) suffers her second loss of the season with six saves against 16 shots faced.

The Comets will be back in action on Wednesday, September 4, playing visitor to Ohio Wesleyan in Delaware. Kickoff for that match is set for 7:00 p.m.
