Men’s Lacrosse Shows Out at Heidelberg

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Capital University men's lacrosse team (3-7, 3-0 OAC) traveled to Heidelberg (4-7, 1-2 OAC) on Wednesday night, scoring 15 straight goals and holding the Student Princes scoreless for the first 56 minutes en route to a 15-1 win. The single goal was the fewest allowed by the Comets since 2022 when they did it twice against Wilmington and Heidelberg.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Capital got off to an immaculate start as they netted 13 times in the first half while also holding Heidelberg scoreless in the first 30 minutes. The Comets scored six in the first quarter with one each from Jacob Poole, Aiden Manning, Mason Spaulding, and Jackson Gantz, and two from Ty Chase. Chase took his total to five in the second quarter with three straight scores preceded by goals from Spaulding, Nathan Montgomery, and Jake Belt. Max Schillig would get on the scoresheet with just seconds left in the second quarter to make it a 13-0 game at the half.

CU started to slow things down in the second half as the focus turned to draining off the rest of the clock. As a result, the Purple and White would only add two goals to their total, both coming in the third quarter courtesy of Logan Telesz and Aaron Waltman. Heidelberg finally broke through for their first and only goal of the game with 3:13 left in the fourth, leaving the final score at 15-1.
