COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University men's lacrosse team fell by a final score of 18-9 at home to the College of Wooster on Wednesday night.
The Comets (1-4) found themselves in an early three goal deficit that they struggled to recover from, despite ending the first quarter with two goals from
Mason Spaulding and
Jake Belt.
A five-goal run by the Scots (4-1) to start the second quarter all but sealed the result for the Comets as that made the score 8-2 in favor of the visitors.
The Comets made a game out of it midway through the third quarter as the team got three quickfire goals from
Anthony Carusone and Spaulding (2). Unfortunately, that steam would run out as Wooster closed the game on a 5-2 run to win 18-9.
