Men's Hoops Falls Short on the Road for First Loss of the Season

GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Capital University men's basketball traveled to Denison to take on the Big Red in Livingston Gymnasium on Wednesday. The Purple and White kept it close to start the game, but ultimately ended up falling 69-44 in a hard-fought defensive matchup.

Capital suffers their first loss of the season, dropping to 2-1 as they continue non-conference play. The Comets hope to get back on the winning side during their trip to Adrian this Saturday.

The win at home improves Denison to 3-0 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams came out of the locker room energized, trading blows to start the game. Capital handled Denison's press well, and opened up the game with two big three-pointers. Things started to slow down soon though and some sloppy plays from both sides led to a low-scoring first half with Denison managing to find their stride going into halftime, up 29-18.

Coming out of the half, the Comets were fired up and looking to fight their way back into winning position. After some more back-and-forth, the Big Red were able to turn stops into points and pull away in the early part of the half. Capital found some life late, but Denison was able to maintain the lead and end the game with final score of 69-44.
